Uh-oh!
Hi guys. This is my first time posting in this forum. I'm still a newbie (only 4 months out) but today I realized I'm 4 days "late." I know this isn't exactly cause for worry, but I definitely have the what if's running through my mind.
DH and I have been working to prevent a new addition to our family because I know it's best to wait until I am further out and/or done losing weight to get preggers, but I have terrible reactions to hormonal bc and our other methods aren't always the most reliable. I tried getting fitted for a diaphragm, but with my weight loss, things are changing down there, too, and it no longer fits. Condoms always seem to malfunction for us in one way or another, so lately we've been combining family planning, spermicide, and withdraw methods to prevent pregnancy.
While I would love nothing more than to have another little one to bless my life, I know now is not the ideal time. But what if I am? Have any of you (or do any of you know someone that has) gone through a pregnancy this early out from your surgery?

Hi hun my first pregnancy was 4mos out of surgery. I just ate like I was supposed to high protien and low carbs, drank lots of water, and took all my vitamils. I did not gain any weight with him I had an uneventful pregnancy and safe delivery just stay on course do your work outs (walking and swimming, and light weights) my son came out healthy and I was healthy my ob told me the surgery doesnt make you high risk, unless you have other things going on. I wish you a safe and uneventfful pregnancy and delivery aswell

Thanks so much for the reply. I find myself still waiting on AF today, but I now have a calmness about what is to come if I am. I am planning to wait until Thursday to test, just to give AF more of a chance to show up.
My daughter was born without any complications other than I was borderline with gestational diabetes, which could come back, but it may not as well since I am nearly 100 pounds lighter than I was when I was pregnant with her.
I have been struggling with eating and drinking enough and taking my vitamins, but I'm sure a little one would give me plenty of motivation to try and do better and better with all of that.

It happens - you're not the first, and you won't be the last! It's not ideal, but it's also not the end of the world.
Have you considered the copper IUD (not the Mirena, as that is hormonal, but there is another IUD that does not use hormones)?

For what it's worth (which is probably not a lot) lol.... I had paraguard for 10 years, had it removed, replaced it with Mirena, had it removed 8 months later to try to conceive and was pregnant in the first month. I wasn't sure if all the years of having an IUD would challenge things, but obviously they didn't. If you ever decide to go that route, please make sure you go with someone very competent.
Good luck with AF coming! I read your later post and thought the same thing as Jill. I was about 8 weeks before the urine test at home came back with a tiny faint line. A blood test can let you know very quickly. I ended up going that route because I never could get a good solid pink line on the crazy at home tests.
